When the negative voices are having a go, and the overwhelm has set in ….

Some very simple things I do to help myself on the days when the negative voices are having a go, and the overwhelm has set in ….

  •  Put my phone down … step away from it / put it in a drawer / put it in a different room; give myself a rest from the incessant

    n o i s e.

  •  Sit and have a cup of tea and let that be ALL I do. (see point one, the phone is out of sight ;) 

Allow myself to pause. 

  •  Soften my shoulders, because they are hitched up to my ears and giving me jaw ache.

  •  Take a couple of deep deep deeeeeep breaths. Breathe all the way down to my tummy. Let my tummy move, let it expand o u t w a r d s.

Allow myself to soften. 

  • Move my body in a way that matches my energy. 

   i.e.; if I’m feeling a bit hyped up & rattled; I shake wildly to something empowering like ‘Shake It Out’ by Florence & The Machine. 

   Or if I’m feeling a little lethargic & tender? I move & stretch slowly to some Olafur Arnalds. 

   I meet myself where I’m at,

but I move.

Allow myself to be.
